Life Day 23675: Astronomy Day

May 7, 2012 at 1:36 pm | Posted in Today is | Leave a comment

Good afternoon star gazers. Today is Astronomy Day.  Astronomy day was created in 1973 by Doug Berger, then President of the Astronomical association of North America. Its intent is to get more people interested in Astronomy. Tonight is the night to pry yourself out of the Lazy Boy, go outside and look to the heavens. How many different constellations can you identify?

There are a few more holidays today that are mentioning merely because one of them may pertain to one of you. They are: Accountant Day, Melanoma Day, and National Tourism Day. If you have reason to celebrate any of these, you can do your own research.

The food related holiday today is Roast Leg of Lamb Day. It is a bit late to be telling you this, but I am confident that none of you were planning on having Leg of lamb for dinner tonight anyway.
